Incorporated on July 6, 2005, MACHWASCO originated as a department under the defunct Municipal Council of Machakos. Following statutory reforms and devolution, the utility transitioned into a licensed commercial Water Service Provider wholly owned by the County Government of Machakos. Today, it is regulated by WASREB and mandated to deliver safe, reliable, and affordable water and sanitation services
